Sanchez Fernandes is a guitarist, bassist, singer-songwriter, composer-arranger and educator based in New York City. Sanchez started his career as a musician in his hometown of Mumbai, India, where he performed his original music and was a sideman in a few bands. He participated in numerous school and college events and contests before moving to New York.

He studied guitar under renowned New York City jazz guitarists and educators Tom Dempsey and Kenny Wessel. Sanchez earned his bachelor’s in music from City College of New York.

As a sideman, Sanchez has performed in several cities across America. He is proficient in multiple styles of music and has played with renowned Bollywood singers like Kavita Krishnamurthy, Rasika Shekar, Suchismita Das, Jeffery Iqbal, and Indian Idol: Season 5 winner Sreerama Chandra.

He plays frequently with upcoming jazz, rnb and pop music artists like Dillion Mansour, Bia. E, Sohei Narita Quintet, and Rebecca Sol. He also performs his own music and leads the jazz fusion band Magis.  

Recent recordings includes works with rapper JusB, drummer and percussionist Dillon Mansour, and saxophonist Sohei Narita Quintet. Currently he is working towards releasing his first EP "Writing songs for her."

Lastly, Sanchez has been teaching music both privately and at a music school in Queens, NY.
